The Internet.org app will give Airtel customers basic Internet services for Free which includes services like access to Facebook and its Instant Messaging App, Wikipedia, Google search, Accuweather, Local health and Job services. This App will work in Android phones and as well as local phones because local phones are majorly used in Zambia. Rosen ( Project Management Director at Facebook) said that Zambia has only 15% of Internet users and they can expand the business very easily.
The Zambia's population is expected to be 15 million but there are only 15% people who use internet, so the main aim is to expand the Internet users in Zambia. In a statement Mark Zuckerberg said that making connectivity affordable and convincing the people that Internet is something they need are more bigger hurdles.
The only disadvantage of the App is that it does not include Mail in the free services provided and if the users clicks something that is not included in the free service then a warning message will appear that the "Data charges will be applicable".
