Hello friends, today we have got good news, Google has started its own VPN service for Android users, and Google has included a new system application 'Google Connectivity Services' - in the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop OS build. It incorporates company's own VPN service option dubbed Google VPN.
According to a report, Google has also roll-out factory images of its latest mobile OS, Android 5.1 to select devices, such as Nexus 5, 4, 7, 10, it clarifies some accurate news regarding the coming up. If you are a Nexus device owner with Android 5.1 Lollipop installed, you can reportedly find the Google Connectivity Services app in Settings > Apps > However, one cannot open the app from here, and will have to use a shortcut creator app, such as "QuickShortcutMaker" to open. Once you launch the Google Connectivity Services app and connecting to an open Wi-Fi network, it takes you to see a Google VPN pop-up that says, "To help protect you on open Wi-Fi networks, your data will be transmitted securely through a Google VPN". Press "Got it" and you will be taken to a dialog asking you to confirm a VPN connection.
According to Android Chief Sundar Pichai, all this things will involve combining Wifi and cellular telephony, it means Google Connectivity Services and the Google VPN might also relate to the company's plans to launch its own MVNO carrier in the U.S and said that Google is already in talks with telecom companies. He also declined to give further details, and said that Google don't intend to be a network operator at scale. Additionally Sundar Pichai, said that "We are actually working with carrier partners. You will see us announce it in the coming months".
