It has been a dream for many to use a stylus or finger-tip for writing text straight in their mobile phones or tablets instead of inputting through the usual keyboard. One benefit for this would be that texting would get faster. In the case of keyboard, whether QWERTY, AZERTY, QUERTZ, etc. one has to fiddle with the keys containing different characters and special characters. With direct inputting of text to the mobile, one gets the liberty to insert drawings, sketches, etc. The only probable issue in the case of stylus that one can visualise will be that of ensuring that the stylus is not misplaced or lost.
Well, friends, there is an application – now at an experimental stage, of course – that would be available free of cost from Google Play Store, which allows you to use your handwriting for texting into the Android devices – phones, tablets, etc. Handwriting recognition is easy and fast. This is called ‘MyScript Stylus’.

key features includeediting text on the fly with gestures, erasing characters, words or sentences, creating line breaks, making or removing spaces, overwriting characters to correct, etc. In case, one wants to go for continuous writing, he can as well use the horizontal mode of the device for greater ease.

Installation of the application is easy. Search for MyScript Stylus in the Google Play Store, and download it. It is available free of charges. Once the app is downloaded, tap on the relative icon on the screen, and follow the instructions given therein. While English (American) is a default language, in case you intend to go for some other language, you will have to download that too. Incidentally, the app has a provision to support as many as 54 languages.
The next step would be to go over to the Settings. You would here have options for enabling different keyboards. A little bit of understanding will make you proficient in using the application with use. Once you have understood the system, you will find the application easy enough to operate.
