Time is changing fast. There was a time when people had a preference of petrol driven car. The preference shifted to diesel, because of the low running cost. And now......hold your breadth............we may soon opt for electricity-powered vehicles.
Not those electric cars were not there earlier. In fact, there were quite some experiments made with Mitsubishi, Tesla, Chevy, etc. coming out with such cars. But these could not catch the imagination of the car lovers primarily because of its limitations and lack of adequate infrastructure for those making inter-city travels.

It is in this context that the Japanese giant Nissan’s latest invention is noteworthy. It unveiled its second electric car at Yokohama in Japan in the beginning of this month. The car called Nissan LEAF e-NV200 is eco-friendly with absolutely no emissions or pollutions whatsoever. In an eco-conscious generation, the car is likely to catch attention quite fast. The limitations, as stated earlier, would not however be totally eliminated. The car, once fully charged, will run for around 190 kilometres. Thus, it will prove helpful for the urban populace, who normally commute between their homes to offices. These people normally travel for 50 to 60 kms within the city per day. However, for travels beyond the city limits, they need to have arrangements for recharging the batteries. Here again, some good news. Nissan has now developed a separate quick charging device, which recharges the batteries to the extent of 80% in around half-an hour.
The car will hopefully be available for sale – in next four months’ time - in some European countries at a cost of around 37,900 US dollars. Let us see, how the vehicle will be accorded reception in the world of automobiles. Best of Luck!
