Apple is apparently planning on releasing public beta versions for both iOS 8.3 and iOS 9 this year. This would be a biggest shift in Apple's way of developing its mobile software. According to a report, Apple intends to release the upcoming iOS 8.3 as a public beta via the company's existing AppleSeed program in mid-March. At the same time, Apple also expects to release the iOS 9 in the month of June in a Worldwide Developer Conference.
With the first iOS public betas, the company is trying to avoid the bug-laden software. It also offers beta builds only to developers, who will pay an annual fee for that and can get other privileges too. Apple is said to be opening the iOS public beta builds to the first 100,000 users who sign up, in order to maintain uniqueness. The iOS beta will be made available via the existing AppleSeed program only. Those users who will sign up, will be offered a dedicated bug-reporting app alongside, similar to what developers and OS X public beta build users have been given in the past. The company started offering beta builds of iOS 8.3, code-named 'Stowe', to the developers earlier this month. It also claims to bring the wireless CarPlay, an improved Emoji keyboard and an improved voice for Siri, apart from an easier login process for Google services.
According to a report, iOS 9 is codenamed as 'Monarch', and is said to be focused more upon stability improvements and bug fixes. Additionally, it is likely to bring its as-yet-unnamed music streaming service, leveraging the Beats Music ecosystem.
