Bengaluru based startup Ather Energy has developed India's first smart electric scooter. The company has integrated Android as operating system into scooter's tachometer. It also comes with Bluetooth connectivity, GSM, Google Map Navigation and other smart features.
Ather Energy co-founder Tarun Mehta spoke about the difficulties they faced during design development to cut down cost and weight of S340.
Users have the option to track their vehicle using mobile app and even can enable the fast charging using slider present in mobile app.

Apart from vehicle location tracking, a lot of work has gone into providing vehicle analytics to the rider, on the dashboard and on its app. Users will be able to extrapolate their average driving speed. Mehta says that the team working on the data analytics love building their own profiles on the prototype, to gauge their energy efficiency.
Company is expected to do mass production till the end of 2016. Also they haven't mentioned about the pricing of the scooter.
