Windows RT maybe far from reaching the Indian soil just yet but there are other options. You could get yourself one of those iPads from Apple or Note Tabs from Samsung but if you are looking for a true-PC like experience then its time to shine the light on the new Windows 8.1 tablets. We list the best ones right here so check them out. Acer Iconia W4 The Acer Iconia W4 is a good successor to the Iconia W3, the first 8-inch one in the market but disappointed with the lackluster display. Powered by an Intel Atom Z3740 1.33 GHz Qaud Core processor, 2GB RAM and Intel HD 4000 graphics, the 8-inch tablet features a 1280 x 800 display. The tablet comes bundled with the complete Office 2013 Home and Student Edition, and is available in two variants – 32 GB and 64 GB with extra storage capacity expandable with a micro SD card. At just 10mm waist, the W4 has a decent 4960mAh battery that lasts a full 10 hours on heavy use. A 5MP rear camera capable of 1080p video at 30fps is also bundled with a 2MP front facing lens. The tablets includes the usual Wifi 802.11 a, b, g, n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS and Glonass. The W4 is available in the stores and online for ₹26,499.
Asus Transformer Book T100TA The Transformer Book T100 is a compact ultraportable that combines the productivity features of a laptop with the easy portability of a tablet — and you can switch between the two in an instant. At just 1.07kg, T100 is one of the lightest laptops around, but detach the 10.1-inch display from the keyboard and it becomes an equally lightweight tablet. With an Intel Atom Z3740 Quad Core CPU and Intel HD 5000 graphics combined with 2GB RAM and 32gigs of internal storage, this is one of the best tablets for all your needs. Light-weight to medium gaming shouldnt be a problem as long as you keep the settings on check. Other than that, the tablet is pretty much a complete package rounding off about Rs. 34,999. Dell Venue 8 Pro The Dell Venue 8 Pro is another 8-inch Windows tablet to rival the Acer Iconia W4. Powered by the Intel Atom Z3740D Quad Core(slightly better than the regular Z3740 in benchmarks) and HD 4000 graphics with 2GB RAM and 32 GB Storage, the Dell 8-incher is available for ₹26,499. This one also features the Office 2013 Home and Student Edition. Along with this comes a stylus for those scribbling fanatics who like to draw, write or maybe even jot down their daily tasks. With a 4830mAH battery, this windows 8.1 tablet is suitable for the everyday scholar and should run out of juice in no less than 8 hours. Lenovo Thinkpad 8 Lenovo Thinkpad 8 is actually an 8.3-inch multimode tablet that features three modes - Tablet, Desktop, and Tent. Featuring the latest Intel Bay trail - Z3770 Processor and a lavish 128 GB storage, it’s a solid device. It’s not yet available in stores, and there’s no indication of price, but it’s coming soon as we are told. The upgrade in CPU, GPU and storage as well as various other aspects compared to the crowd, this tablet beats each and everyone of them. Watch the video review below.
