China possibly will have a new home-produced operating system by October this year to take on imported rivals such as Microsoft Corp, Google Inc and Apple Inc, Xinhua news agency said on Sunday. China is currently looking to help its home production to hold up with import systems such as Microsoft's Windows and Google's mobile operating system Android.
The operating system would first come into view on desktop devices and later expand to smartphone and other mobile devices.
Ni's notes were initially reported by the People's Post and Telecommunications News, an authorized trade paper run by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Incidentally, China has prohibited government use of Windows 8 which is the latest operating system of Microsoft. It is also under analysis for anti-trust violation. Last year in the month of March, China understood that Google had extra control over China's smartphone business via its Android mobile operating system.

Ni said the ban on Windows 8, was a big chance for the Chinese division to push ahead its own systems, but that the industry looked-for further development and savings.
