Facebook – the giant social activity platform – has brought out a unique version of facebook meant only for businessmen and business establishments. It is christened as ‘Facebook-at-Work’. While this account is similar to the usual Facebook account, it would have a different role to play. In the ‘Facebook-at-Work’ account, the user will stay connected to his co-workers and employees, and the relevant interactions and messages will be accessible to only those working in the company.
Setting up of a work account is easy. If one is using the Facebook-at-Work, he can click the link that he has received through email to set up his account. Alternatively, he may visit his company’s facebook account to set up the new version. Once the account is set up, he can get the relevant application downloaded on his iPhone from iTune App Store or on his Android smart phone from Google Play Store.

It may be clarified that Facebook at Work is a tool for co-workers to communicate and collaborate in a professional environment on Facebook. One can therefore have both, his usual Facebook account (personal) and the Facebook-at-Work account for his work related communications. He can however link latter with the former without any difficulty. It may further be is elucidated here that when one sets up his Facebook-at-Work account, his profile automatically includes information provided by his employer. This may include details like his name, job title and contact information relating to work, etc. In case, there are errors, he can get them rectified through his employer. Interestingly, he can personalise the work profile by including his profile picture, cover photo and other relevant details.
