India is the second biggest market for the Social Networking giant, Facebook. Earlier this year in July Sheryl Sandberq, the Chief Operating Officer of Facebook visited India. She met the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has used Social Networking very effectively during the election campaign.
Later this month Mark Zuckerberg will visit India and will meet Indian PM to address the first Internet.org summit scheduled for 9-10 October. Internet.org summit aims to make Internet access affordable for people across the globe. This is the first Internet.org summit taking place in India. The Internet.org is focussed on bringing online the next five billion people who are without the Internet access.
The members of this Project include Facebook, Nokia, MediaTek, Snapdragon, Opera, Qualcomm and Samsung. These partners are planning to bring low-cost high-quality Smartphones. The Internet.org summit will bring many people together like experts, Industrial leaders, Officials etc, to focus on bringing the Internet in other languages as well.
India is one of the important markets for Facebook. The numbers of users are increasing very fast day by day. Many users use internet through mobiles. Predictably, Mark Zuckerberg will meet Prime Minister Modi to discuss about how the Indian government can collaborate with Internet.org.
