On the 15th September, the well-known automobile company Ford, launched its Figo car in both diesel and petrol versions. There were three variants in the Diesel version, ranging from Rs 4.8 lac to Rs 6.0 lac, called Figo Diesel LXI, Figo Diesel EXI and Figo Diesel Titanium. The Petrol version, on the other hand, has four variants ranging from Rs 3.9 lac to Rs 5.1 lac. These are named as Ford Figo Petrol LXI, Ford Figo Petrol EXI, Ford Figo Petrol ZXI and Ford Figo Petrol Titanium. The prices quoted are ex-show room, Delhi.
Ford Figo’s new vehicles are reportedly giving excellent performance in city and high-way road conditions. Its steering is both, light and precise, and is built to provide superb control on the vehicle. The cars are elegant, good looking with body coloured front and rear bumpers. The interiors too are aesthetically made with ample leg-space to the occupants.
It will not be possible to give our views on each of the seven variants mentioned above. We would therefore keep ourselves confined to only one of them: the Ford Figo Diesel Titanium that costs Rs 6.00 lac in Delh (ex-show room).

The vehicle has three point seatbelts for front and rear seats. The windscreen is laminated and glazed. The car is equipped with intelligent central locking coupled with Smart Programmable Keyless entry. In the backdrop of increasing car theft, the vehicle has Passive Anti Theft System (PATS). It has quite some safety features as well. The dual front Airbags provide security to the front seat occupants in the event of a frontal accident. The front fog lamps and the rear Wash/Wipe add to safe-driving.
Speaking about the comfort and convenience, the vehicle has Air-conditioning with heater. It is also equipped with Power Steering for comfortable driving, as also features like front Power Windows, remote Fuel Filter opening, anti-drip wiping, remote Boot open, etc. The interiors are no less insignificant – it has Day/Night inside Rear View Mirror, Power Point in the front, Cupholders on Floor Console, Foldable Grab handles, Deluxe Floor Console, removable Parcel Tray, etc.
A user of the car will be able to give a more valid and impressionistic view on the car. Nevertheless, in the light of the Company’s reputation and the features made available at the present price of Rs 6.0 lac, the model prima facie seems to be attractive.
