Gionee Elife E7 -The Beauty & The Beast( Review & Full Phone Specifications)

Well well look what we have here. Its the Gionee Elife E7 that flexes its powerful internals and beautiful body that is sure to catch your eye. With specs that rival any other highend smartphone, E7 aims big and claims to be the fastest smartphone in the world. It maybe true to say the least but is it worth your hard earned money? Time to find out.

Hardware

Gionee Elife E7 Review
Gionee had a conference couple of days ago and came forward with the next gen hardware and  eye popping design with and sure-to-get-attention colors. The E7 looks like a futuristic slab of glass and polycarbonate and fortunately Gionee was clever enough to equip it with hard plastic that claims to be scratch resistant. The front panel carries a now standard 5.5 inch FULL HD JDI display with 1920x1080 resolution and we're sure you know the ppi count(401ppi for those who don't). Gorilla glass 3 stands tall and scratch resistant with an all glass front panel. The internals are like no other flagship: 2.3 Ghz Quad Snapdragon 800 chipset and Adreno 330 GPU. The RAM sees a bump to 2GB which is obviously expected with 16GB and 32GB internal storages(No MicroSD card option). The other variant of the E7 sports a 2.5Ghz Quad core S800 with 3GB RAM and 32GB fixed internal memory. The E7 with the 2.5 Ghz clock speed claimed by Gionee "is one of the fastest devices yet". The latest flagship hosts a 16MP sensor on the back and an 8MP frontie which we will discuss below. The E7 zips past through menus, apps and games with ease and displays no hiccups no matter what is thrown at it. My guess is, it'll do just fine with the rest of the competition.

Software

Gionee Elife E7 Review
Unfortunately we don't know as to why Gionee snuck Android 4.2.2 instead of the now bare-minimum 4.3. Its ok, we understand 4.4 maybe too much to ask but hopefully Gionee comes up with an update soon. With Android 4.2.2 beneath the AMIGO 2.0 UI, the E7 looks just as beautiful on the inside like it does on the outside. With customized icons and menus, AMIGO 2.0 feels and works flawlessly without any drawbacks and moded android 4.2.2 seems to get along very well. The OS features wide range of apps that help customizing your phone to increase the overall experience and performance of the device. Among other goodies, screen taps and screen gestures are implemented even wih the phone on stand-by. Now that's new.

Camera

Gionee Elife E7 Review
E7 has the most sensitive 16-megapixel camera, courtesy of its Largan M8 lens (though the aperture is still unknown) and 1/2.3-inch sensor with large 1.34µm pixels. Compared to the competition, Gionee believes this particular OmniVision sensor has the best balance between resolution and pixel size, and the phone maker even went as far as claiming this already beats the 1.12µm, 16-megapixel counterpart on the yet-to-be-announced Galaxy S 5.

Battery & Conclusion

Gionee Elife E7 Review
Only time will tell how well the 2,500mAh battery performs - we were expecting somewhere closer to 3,000mAh for this flagship device. Build quality isn't really an issue on the E7, though we'd rather not have that glossy finish, which was becoming a magnet for smudges as well as giving the device a cheap look, as the plastic's unevenness was accented. Other than that, the phone felt good in our hands courtesy of the slightly curved back, with the thickness going from 9.5mm in the middle to 6.2mm on the thinnest sides. We should point out that the straight-angle corners and the large camera bump on the back reminds us of the Lumia 1520, but we doubt there was any intention of plagiarism here. For a price of $440 you get 16GB internal, 2GB RAM and 2.3Ghz S800, pay a little extra till $530 to get 32GB internal, 2GB RAM and 2.3Ghz S800. The last variant will be up for grabs at $570 and you get 32GB internal, 3GB RAM and 2.5Ghz S800.

Hardware as well as software for the phone is a 10/10. But a custom ROM and developers love for customization is always welcomed.

Dear Nadeem,
Thanks for reply ,But my idea is possibility of changing software just for offering users more options like what oppo did by N1 Cyanogenmod.

Gionee phones are mostly known for its sleek design, battery life and nothing much..they struggles a lot when compared with the other phones in terms of other features.
