Google is about to release the latest version of Google Glass with an all-new chip-set and improved battery life. The next version of Google Glass will be powered by an Intel x 86 chips instead of Texas Instruments ARM chip that helms the current Glass Explorer Edition hardware.
According to a Wall Street Journal source, Intel will soon replace Texas Instruments in the latest version of Google Glass. Google Glass is a head-mounted device resembling a pair of spectacles that allows people to view the Internet and take pictures. Intel plans to promote Glass to companies such as hospital networks and manufacturers, while developing new workplace uses for the device. Intel will supply the SoC in the next version of Google Glass.
It is not clear yet if this will be the consumer version of Glass, or merely an updated version for developers/early adopters. Google Glass was primarily promoted as a consumer gadget. Earlier this year, Google announced that it was pushing the Glass for business uses with a program called 'Glass at Work'. Stay connected with us to know more about Google glasses.
