In the following lines, a brief account of certain usual and important features has been provided, which may help a buyer to decide in choosing a smart phone that would suit him most. Needless to mention that this is not an exhaustive list but an illustrative one. It would be prudent to make a comparative study of two or more phones before arriving at a decision.

- Display – Display relating to the Screen covers issues like the type of screen, its size, the screen resolution etc. High resolution understandably gives HD quality pictures and videos. Further, some people opt for small compact phones with resolution in the range of 480x800 pixels that give them a comfortable grip and ordinary viewing of videos, while others prefer larger gadget with big screen for viewing HD. It may be clarified that small handy compact phones too have high resolution displays. The larger screens usually consume more power, and hence would run out of power soon, unless backed by higher capacity (mAh) batteries.
- Processor & Memory – Processor primarily influences the performance of a phone. A good processor will keep the phone cool and efficient. RAM on the other hand is responsible for multi-tasking, task-switching over etc. Memory provides the space for applications and documents and therefore higher memory capacity would provide greater space for downloading of apps, etc. It is advisable to look for 4 GB or more of internal memory. There is also a need to see if the memory is extendable. Extendable memory gives an option to enhance the capacity for keeping additional downloads. Thus, one has to select a phone depending on his peculiar needs.
- Camera – Most of the smart phones come with rear cameras of 2.0 to 5.0 megapixels and front cameras of 0.3 to 2.0 megapixels. A normal 2.0 megapixels camera with reasonably good lens can give excellent results. For still better results in photography and video recording, one can go for higher MPs cameras. It is worthwhile to mention that mere higher MPs will not suffice for good pictures. One has therefore to exercise his discretion while looking into this element.
- Other Features – The other important features to examine should be to see if the phone is blue-tooth, enabled, GPS and 3G/4G network enabled, size of phone-directory, messaging facilities, sound-system and sound quality. Last but not the least is to see if the after-sales services are easily available in your location and city. Opt for the phone which can easily be serviced in case of need.
