How To Copy Text From Protected Word Document

Now a days many of us prefer to study through the Internet. Web is the best source for studies and if you usually download study materials from the internet, you do at times come across word documents that cannot be edited or copied. In this post, we will show you the technique to copy or edit protected word documents using a built-in feature in Microsoft Word.

Sometimes the website hosting the document may contain the password which unlocks Password protected word documents. But the documents that are copy protected or restricted cannot be copied. Not to worry, it is still possible to copy the content of the document and edit it. Follow the simple steps that we have listed below and you are good to go.
Note: This method is applicable to extract text only. Graphical elements such as images, charts and media files like audio, video will be ignored.

Steps On How To Copy Text From Protected Word Document 

Step1: Create a new Microsoft Office Word Document.
Launch Microsoft Office and create a new Microsoft Office Word Document. After opening Office by default Word will always start with a blank untitled document. But if the program is already running, go to File -> New. This new document will be used to store the text of the protected document you want to copy.

Step 2: Select Text from File 
Now click on the Insert tab and in the Text section which is in the right side of Insert tab, go to the small square window and click the small arrow next to the window, you will find object and Text from File. Here select Text from File.

Step 3: Insert the Document
Now just pick the protected document from the location you saved it on your PC. After selecting the file click insert and the text will be extracted from the protected document.

Step 4: Save File
The extracting process often takes only a few seconds. After extracting the text, Word will display the results in the newly created document. Formatting of the Text may slightly change because the original document may have been created in a different version of Word. After successful extraction, click on 'Save As' and 'Save the File'. That’s it.
