Do you ever come across a situation when you find your Yahoo Mail compromised, or in common word, ‘hacked’? It becomes a real discomfiture when your friends get mail purportedly sent by you containing undesirable materials. It is all the more embarrassing

when you know that you cannot possibly keep a track of all those who received ‘your mail’ with objectionable contents. Further, there were instances when an account password is stolen to hack it for either terrorist activities or perpetrating frauds for monetary gains. One has therefore to be careful to ensure against hacking of his account.
Case 1:
Yahoo provides certain security features that would ensure against hacking of your account. The ‘second sign-in verification’ if activated will make it virtually impossible to log into your account even after one has stolen your password. To begin, visit http://goo.gl/1W0yJ
Case 2:
In situations where your account has been hacked and password stolen, it would be difficult for you to log into your account. You need to visit https://edit.yahoo.com/forgotroot and then click on the box corresponding to ‘My Account may have been compromised’ and submit. Yahoo would help restore your account after obtaining certain information to ascertain your identity.
Case 3:
Now, there would be a situation when you discover that you have inadvertently deleted your Yahoo Contacts. Here, you can seek help for restoring the contacts. When you visit http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ymail/restore.html you would be asked to specify if you have lost all the contacts or some of them. In the next box, you have to specify how you lost them – whether deleted accidentally, deleted on account of hacking, etc. In the third and fourth boxes, you would be asked to specify the period from where you wish to restore back the address-book, and lastly, you are to mention your time zone, your Yahoo ID, your Email address, etc. On submission of these details, Yahoo would help restore your Yahoo Contacts from their active server.
Case 4:
There may be instances when after your hacked account is restored, you discover that all your messages (instant messages and email messages) have been totally deleted not only from the relevant folder but from the ‘Trash’ folder as well. Here again, it is possible to restore such messages, but would be for only those which were lost in the last 48 hours. The success for such restoration, however, is not guaranteed. It need to be further clarified that the restoration returns the account to the time specified, and as such, all messages, including instant messages and email messages, received after that time are deleted and cannot be retrieved at all.
