Microsoft has launched the first preview starting with build 10080. This operating system is now available for more phone headsets like the Lumia Icon or Lumia 930, Lumia 640 or Lumia 640 XL and HTC One (M8) which is the first non-Lumia phone joining the Windows 10 preview program.
Now more users can get access to Windows 10 Mobile preview and get their hands on the new preview of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. According to reviews there are many bugs in this preview version. If you run into any problems or you simply done testing this preview then you can revert back to Windows Phone 8.1. Microsoft's 'Windows Phone Recovery Tool' for PCs will allow you to revert to Windows Phone 8.1 from Windows 10 Mobile.
Steps On How To Revert Back From Wondows 10 Preview To Windows Phone 8.1
Step 1: Download & Install Windows Phone Recovery Tool
Download and install the Windows Phone Recovery Tool. This is a free tool from Microsoft, it is advisable to use the latest version of this tool.
Step 2: Connect Your Phone To Computer
After the installation is complete, open the tool and connect your Smartphone to Computer. Wait for the tool to detect your Smartphone.
Step 3: Select Your Smartphone
Select your Smartphone from the list to continue, almost all Windows Phone devices are supported. If the tool fails to detect your Smartphone model correctly, then do not proceed. Otherwise, it may flash your phone with an incompatible firmware, which may break your phone.
Step 4: Click Reinstall Software & Continue
Once you proceed, the tool to get the list of available software on the server, and then hit Reinstall software. After that you will be asked to click continue by the disclaimer.
Step 5: Wait For The Software To Download
After you click continue, the software package will be downloaded from the server. When the tool finishes the download, it will flash the firmware automatically, so you do not have to do anything after this step. Make sure that your phone stays connected the entire time so that everything goes smoothly.
