Long awaited LG’s flagship G4 is now scheduled to see the light of the day on 24th of April, officially announced by the South Korean electronics giant. We made a mention of this coming device in our issue of 30.12.2014 under the caption of ‘LG’s G4 Equipped with Stylus to Warm up the Market’. The launching of the smartphone will take place simultaneously in London, New York and Paris.
Reports say that the event invitation for the launching is now being circulated with the tag-words ‘See the Great, Feel the Great’ with the alphabet ‘G’ styled to match LG’s G series branding. Although the specifications and the details are still very scanty, it is presumed that the new device would be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, and will be worthy successor to the Company’s G3 launched towards the end of May last year. The date of the event for the launch has presumably been fixed keeping in mind the probable launching schedules of Samsung and Apple.
Rumours are afloat that the device would have Android Lollipop as its operating system. It will further have 5.5” QHD display and is likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 with hexa-core CPU. It is expected to have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and external storage via micro card slot up to an extent of 128 GB, The rear and front cameras would carry 16 MP (5312x2988 pixel) and 8 MP lenses respectively. These apart, the phone would have the usual features pertaining to communication, like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB, Infrared Port, etc. Now, let us wait till the device comes up in the market to judge whether it is to the users’ level of expectation.
