There has been many inventions on electric motorcycles. Lightning Motorcycles has now launched a newly designed super-bike called as LS-218, which is the fastest Electric Motorcycle. This is the First Electric bike to win the Pikes Peak Challenge. This Superbike is priced at $38,000, which is around Rs 2.3 Crores roughly in Indian market.
This was for the first time that Electric Motorcycles were allowed in Pikes Peak challenge. It indicates a major change in the arena of Sports bikes. Now this Superbike is available for customers and has already been delivered to a few of them. We initially thought that electric motorcycles would mean ancient type odd looking bikes, but this bike is uniquely designed, sleek and aerodynamic with soundless machine. The bike doesn't even get hot while in the midst of traffic and it is found to be very smooth in running.

Lightning LS-218 has IPM Liquid Cooled Motor. This electric motor produces surprising horse power. The motor is soundless and very robust.
