Mercedes Benz India has again made it to the headlines by introducing three new variants in its most successful CLA Class model series. Mercedes Benz launched its much anticipated CLA-Class in the country with a starting price tag of Rs 31.50 Lacs (Ex-showroom, Delhi) on January 22, 2015.
The CLA-Class is Mercedes-Benz India’s entry-level luxury sedan and also the first vehicle to be launched in 2015 by the German automaker. Representing a comparatively new segment which involves youthful customers aspiring to own a high-end vehicle, the CLA-Class competes with the Audi A3 here in the Indian market.
Exterior
The 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class has sporty handling and a stylish. One of the main selling points of the CLA-Class is the way it looks. Unlike any other Mercedes car at this price point, the CLA manages to look glamorous thanks to its coupe-like profile and frameless doors. The front-end sports the diamond finish grille, massively sculpted air intakes and a chin spoiler that gives it an aggressive look. At the rear, the outstanding design is completed by the neatly carved bumper with a sharp looking boot lid.
Interiors
This car has an extremely spacious cabin that is good enough to provide comfortable seating to at least five occupants. Standard features on the top-spec Sport trim includes 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control system, engine immobilizer, cruise control, electrically foldable wing mirrors, rear view camera, , rain sensing wipers, leather seat and lots more.
Engine and Gearbox
The CLA Class is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options, right from the beginning, unlike the C-Class. The new car offers two engine options, namely a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.1 litre diesel. Both the variants come mated to a 7-speed, dual-clutch transmission with control sent to the front wheels.
