Micromax has launched its new Canvas-branded Smartphone the Canvas Pep yesterday. The gadget is priced at Rs. 5,999. According to the company the Smartphone is available on both online and offline stores. The handset is yet to be listed on the company website.
The Smartphone features a dual-sim capability and runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. There is no confirmation on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update for Pep. The Smartphone has come up with a 4.5-inch (i.e. 480 x 854 pixels) FWVGA display. The gadget is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor (the chipset is still unspecified) with 1GB of RAM. There is no clear information on inbuilt storage capacity and the company is planning to disclose this bit of information very soon. The Smartphone supports a 5-megapixel fixed-focus rear camera with LED flash, while there is also a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video chats. On the issue of colors, the handset is available in Pristine White and Mystic Blue colour variants. Additionally, Micromax has also announced Android 5.0 Lollipop update roll-out for its recently launched Canvas Xpress Smartphone. It was shipped with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box.

As far as connectivity is concerned, the Smartphone offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options. The smartphone packs a 1700mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 210 hours of standby time.
