According to reports Micromax took the lead in the Indian market over Samsung this Quarter. Micromax became the leading mobile phone vendor for the very first time. Samsung has captured 17% of market shares in mobile phones, Now Micromax captured 19% of shares increasing 6% from quarter 1 surpassing the Samsung's market.
In the Smartphone market Samsung still holds the No.1 position in Shipments with Micromax next to it. The researchers also revealed that Micromax became the leading manufacturer in features phones supplier for the first time beating Nokia which is now acquired by Microsoft.
Majority of growth in smartphone market has been from local brands from Asia and other parts of the country with Xiaomi becoming the 5th largest manufacturer replacing LG. However these local brands have to work very hard in providing brand awareness and mainly providing a good service.
With the huge success of Moto G Motorola has taken the 4th position in the smartphone market. Motorola has also claimed to sell 1 million Moto devices in India. Micromax has continuously widened the gap between it and the 3rd position in the smartphone market and now the market will see much competition in smartphone with the launch of many Asian brands.
