The IT giant, Microsoft, has recently pulled out another rabbit from its hat. It announced a preview of Remote IE that could prove extremely useful to web developers. Microsoft latest programme will be available as a Remote App hosted on Azure which would allow
web developers to test their web pages in the latest version of Internet Explorer found within the Windows 10 technical preview, without having to install a windows 10 preview. To put it differently, Remote IE will be another option that the developers and the professional can utilize to run the most recent version of Internet Explorer on their system.

Those keen to use the new App have to get themselves registered on the Remote IE site and have also have to download a client application for the relevant OS. While the remote app is not very responsive – at least not as much as a local browser does, it is still considered to be good enough for development purposes. Nevertheless, there are a few limiting factors as well, viz. the sessions cannot continue beyond 60 minutes, idling for even 10 minutes will lead to signing off, performance is inferior to native programmes, lack of GPU acceleration, browser cannot be used for opening of local sites, etc.
It may be clarified that the developers will not have any option to change the settings in the IE application. Microsoft has made it clear that a remote Azure session will not be as fast as a local copy of the browser, and that the RemoteIE will not be able to access internal URLs or pages behind firewalls. Despite the limitations, the availability of the Remote IE is welcome, as it would prove helpful to those who aim at further developments in the arena of IT.
