The world-fame Yamaha has recently launched its new 113cc scooter, which happens to be the fourth scooter introduced here in India. This sleek, light weight (103 kg), low cost (Rs 52,500) and fuel efficient (66 km/litre) scooter is likely to prove a challenger to popular budget scooters like the Piaggio Vespa. It is expected that the bike will be fairly acceptable for office goers and city commuters soon. The company claims that this new entry would be a style revolution in the 125cc segment.
The word ‘Fascino’ stands for fashion. A look at the scooter does give an impression of something of this sort. With its curvy body, comfortable seats (seat height 775 mm), a large footboard and fuel-efficient engine, it appears pretty likeable. The look in its entirety is gentle and good. In regard to its dimension, it is 1815 mm long, 675 mm wide and 1120 mm tall. The vehicle has a ground clearance of 128 mm. The fuel tank capacity of the bike is 5.2-litres – considered satisfactory even for long drives. Fascino is available in five colors, viz. red, cobalt, white, cyan and black The instrument cluster that it carries, gives one the impression of Vespa.
Yamaha Fascino is equipped with Blue Core technology engine for achieving better mileage. In fact, it has borrowed its 7.1PS/8.1Nm113cc carbureted heart from its earlier versions, like Alpha, Ray and Ray Z. The scooter will be available in show room from this month itself. Let the scooter run for sometime before one can make a valid judgment about its general acceptability here in Indian roads.
