In IFA 2014 conference Philips showed off a television set with embedded, handheld projectors that could take an image onscreen and extend it to the wall behind the set. Philips has successfully converted this idea into technology called as 'Ambilight projection'. Philips has integrated this technology into a new 65 inches AmbiLux 4K TV.

Philips announced this Smart TV at IFA 2015 event and said that it will be launched by the end of this year. This Smart TV features a 65-inch display that utilises the built-in Ambilight projection system and lets you project on-screen images, motion and colour to the rear wall with the help of nine pico projectors integrated on the TV. The company claims that this television is not limited to just video, but the halo of light will react to the dynamics of any music played through the TV and the lights will match the dynamics of the music that is playing on the television.
