Not sure as to why Samsung is still coming up with single core and dual core smartphones especially when its the era of Quad Cores and Octa Cores. That being said, Samsung recently announced a low-midranger which is the successor to the not-so-popular Galaxy Core, going by the name Galaxy Core Advance. Read on to know more.
The Galaxy Core Advance inherits the design factors from AT&T's Galaxy S4 Active with hard buttons - back, home and menu. Make no mistake unlike the Active, this is not a swimmer nor dust resistant. The specs are rather uninspiring with a mediocre 1.2Ghz Dual Core Cortex A7 CPU, PowerVR SGX 540 GPU and 1GB RAM. Does come with a modest storage options like 8GB internal and expandibility upto 64GB via microSD card. The screen being meagre 480x800 pixel gives it a 199ppi which is low by many standards now. But since this is supposed to be a low-mid range device we are going to cut Samsung some slack.

The camera is a 5MP snapper with LED flash and recording goes upto 720p @ 30fps with self potraits coming in at VGA resolution. The Android 4.2.2 on top comes ofcourse with Samsung's proprieratary TouchWiz UI while the battery compartment holds a 2000mAH that's easily gonna last a full day of moderate to heavy use and maybe you can squeeze half a day more if you are lucky. The estimated price of the device is said to be around Rs.13,500 which ain't that bad but if Samsung does manage to price it as estimated, it faces a huge competition from other OEMs like Micromax and Karbonn where both these OEMs are now providing Quad Cores with better screen resolution and more battery backup. Watch out Samsung, take a hint.
