A fresh report claims that the launch date of the latest Samsung Smartphone in India has been confirmed. Samsung sources have reportedly confirmed that the Z1 handset will be launched in India on the 18th January 2015. According to rumors afloat as also news tickling in through The Korea Economic Daily, it will not cost beyond KRW 100,000, that is around Rs. 5,700 INR.
Samsung Z1 is set for online sale as well as retail sale through the existing sales networks soon. While it is an entry-level Smartphone, the Z1 is supposed to feature a 4-inch display with 480 x 800 pixels, powered by a dual-core Spreadtrum processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. The handset is equipped with 3G, Wi-Fi, dual SIM capabilities, a 3.2 MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, and 512 MB of RAM. As far as connectivity options are concerned, it has the facilities for Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Wi-Fi (802.11n), and Micro-USB.
As understood by the reports, Samsung might be looking to continue with its proprietary TouchWiz interface on the Z1 yet again. The Smartphone is also tipped to sport features like Private Mode and Ultra Power Saving Mode. The Samsung Z1 showcasing the two screenshots of the Tizen OS are reproduced below. While the first OS screenshot shows the home-screen, the second image indicates the gadgetâs phonebook. Notably, a report last month tipped that the handset will run Tizen v2.3 out-of-the-box.
