Sony unveiled the new Alpha 7 II (ILCE-7M2) mirrorless camera on Thursday. The new Alpha 7 II has an extraordinary 5-axis optical image stabilization which is the first of its kind in a full-frame mirrorless camera. This is great news for those who prefer to shoot in low light and will improve image quality by allowing the use of lower ISO settings.
Sony Alpha 7 II Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera
Interestingly, just a year after releasing its first full-frame mirrorless cameras, the Alpha 7 and Alpha 7R, Sony launched its super successor, the Alpha 7 II. The gadget was revealed in Japan. The new model comes with 5-axis body stabilization for still photos and video, which helps reduce camera shake regardless of the lens used. The Alpha 7 II is equipped with a 24.3-megapixel Exmor CMOS Sensor that features 117 phase detect and 25 contrast detect points. This camera has got the support of XAVC S codec, which can record 1080/ 60p video at 50Mbps.

Incidentally all the changes in specifications and design have resulted in an increase in dimensions and weight of the Alpha 7 II compared to all the cameras in the Alpha 7 range, which also includes the Alpha 7R and the Alpha 7S. The Alpha 7 II weighs 556g, which is a good 140g heavier than its predecessor.
