After the success of Gixxer, launched in India towards the end of last year, Suzuki has now launched Gixxer SF – a cosmetic upgrade and faired version of the former - which is destined to thrill youngsters and enthusiastic bike-lovers all across the country. The premier looking bike offers virtually all that an average biker looks for - style, performance and mileage. It is likely to give a tough competition to the like of Honda CBR 150R and Yamaha R15 in the Indian market.

Gixxer SF carries the legacy of its earlier version having the same 154.9cc single-cylinder air-cooled four stroke engine that makes 14.8PS at 8,000 rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The digital instrument cluster providing essentials like speedometer, tachometer, time, a gear indicator and rev-limit beacon confer the bike a pretty high-tech appearance. The aerodynamic fairing – providing improved aerodynamics – coupled with LED tail lamp and clear lens indicators give it a majestic look. Incidentally, the fairing has been so designed that it not only provides great aerodynamic efficiency, but offers maximum wind protection to the rider, consequently reducing turbulence and drag. The aluminium exhaust cover, telescopic suspension in the front and Swing Arm Mono Suspension in the rear are sure to enhance its acceptability in the market.

The five-speed gear box ensures greater efficiency and exceptional running performance. The braking and suspension systems in Gixxer SF are replicated from the original Gixxer and are understood to be fairly popular. The top speed of the bike is reported to be 130 kms per hours. Gixxer SF is available in three shades - Metallic triton blue (Moto GP edition), Pearl Mirage white and glass sparkle black. Priced at INR 83,889 (ex-showroom Delhi), the bike is considered to be the most affordable full-faired bike in the Indian market.
