US bases cab service Uber is planning to develop its own mobile payment wallet for the trip payments. At present the company is in partnership with Paytm wallet and airtel money for taking the payments from customers in respect to the trips. Before booking a ride users add a minimum of 200 rupees to paytm wallet.
For adding a wallet system to their app, Uber has filed a licence application to RBI for keeping the digital money online. This might make many people uncomfortable as everyone got used to keep to Paytm for keeping money in wallet as it facilitates to redeem money on Prepaid Recharge, booking tickets on makemytrip, ebay, etc.

On the other hand Uber competitor and Indian rival Ola Cabs is also planning to develop its own wallet for online payments. At present OLA uses OLA money to facilitate online payments.
