We spoke about Vivo X5Max only a few days ago. Here is another handset loaded with high-end features from the same Chinese manufacturers, Vivo – called Vivo XShot – that has been formally launched yesterday for India. Needless to say that Vivo – a virtual non-entity till recently - has been making concerted efforts to niche a place in the smartphone market of India, and may probably be more visible in Indian showrooms soon.
Vivo’s Xshot is a 5.2” camera-specific slim and attractive smartphone weighing just 148g with a dimension of 73.3x146.45x7.99 mm. The special feature of the gadget is its camera - a fast f/1.8 lens speed with optical image stabilisation option. While It has two versions of some variations in the processor and RAM, the higher version, viz. ‘flagship’ is loaded with 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 along with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. The device has slot for micro SD and micro SIM support. The battery is 2600 mAh, Lion and is non-removable.
The combination of a 13-megapixel resolution camera with f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilisation has probably made the camera a unique one. The front camera is of 8 megapixel resolution, which is considered adequate. In view of the present trend of manufacturers coming out with high quality cameras on phones, these features are likely to make the phone acceptable and popular. Apart from the usual features that one would expect from high-ended smartphones, it also supports Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS, etc. In sum total, we believe, the gadget is good, attractive, handy, and may quite possibly be fairly acceptable to the Indian gadget-lovers. Let’s see how the smartphone market responds.
