When was the last time you wished your phone had a camera that took photos like a DSLR. Humm lemme guess....day before yesterday? Yesterday? Today? If your answer is YES then you need to take a look at Sony's new flagship the Xperia Z1 and the lenses that were announced that is the QX10 and QX100. Read on to find out more.
Xperia Z1
The Xperia Z1 doesnt really carry much of a facelift but it does in the inside and as well as on the outside. The Z1 comes with a 5inch 1080p Triluminous Display that guarantees excellent color reproduction and contrast along with SONY Bravia Engine 2. Beneath it lies a Quad Core Krait 300 CPU clocked at 2.3Ghz and Adreno 330 pumps the graphics. 2GB RAM, 16GB internal and micro-sd card slot are bound to make any movie junky happy. There is 1/2.3" EXMOR RS sensor of 20.7MP with optical image stabilization that is bound to take really amazing photos and videos recording upto 1080p. The selfie-junkies are not left in the dark with a 2MP front camera and 1080p recording as well. All this powered by a 3000mAH battery makes your smartphone experience even better considering that most high-end devices stack less than 3000mAH batteries.

One thing which pretty much surprised everyone was that Sony had announced 2 lenses which can be used a clip-on accessory for the device. Enter QX10 and QX100. Both these lenses basically work on wifi and NFC for communication. The QX10 bearing an 18MP 1/2.3inch lens with f3.3-5.9 and QX100 being the bigger brother posseses a 1inch 20.2MP EXMOR RS sensor and CARL ZEISS lens with f1.8-4.9. With these 2 lenses Sony has definitely made the lives of budding photographers much easier who wish to use great lenses with a smartphone portability. That said the lenses transfer images to the paired device only when connected to a wifi network using an the PlayMemories app(both for iPhone and Android). The images are transferred in full resolution so theres no cut back. Finally these two lenses cost around $250 to $500 for QX10 and QX100 respectively. Watch the video on Z1 and the lenses below to get a complete idea on the lenses work. As always don't forget to comment to let us know what you think of the portable mobile lenses.
