If you have been keeping a keen eye on our blog you must have read that a lot of devices are recieving updates, be it Android 4.3 or Android 4.4.2 (for the GPE devices). Its now time for Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra to taste some Android 4.3 goodness. You might be wondering why Android 4.3 instead of Android 4.4, well that's a question that only OEMs can answer. As of right now the Z1 and Z Ultra get their chance.
The Android 4.3 is obviously official, there's no doubt in that and the update contains features from Android 4.3 along with Sony's own nifty little changes like - Updated versions of Walkman, Messaging, Track ID and MyXperia. Sony has also added the Smart Social Camera to Z Ultra which is only present in the Z1. The update will be OTA but we will upload the flashable zip in case your country doesn't release it soon.

Some of the features in the Android 4.3 update are:
- Google’s Android 4.3; Jelly Bean as standard – bringing Project Butter performance & UI optimisation and a smoother graphical experience.
- Launched with Xperia Z1, now bringing Sony’s Smart Social Camera to Xperia Z Ultra – signature camera experience, that lets you download, access and enjoy “Xperia camera apps” directly from within the viewfinder.
- Uplifting Sony’s entire native app portfolio to the latest versions – bringing tweaked / improved / current experiences for (to name but a few): Messaging, MyXperia, Smart Connect, Small apps, TrackID, Sony Select and…Sony’s Media apps: WALKMAN, Album and Movies, with Sony Entertainment Network cloud service integration.
- A more converged and full Sony entertainment experience – Sony Entertainment Network & PlayMemories integration with a more intuitive UI, offering seamless access to both local and cloud content.
- Launch of unique custom interface experience: “Xperia Themes”, with downloadable UI packs from Sony Select .
