Hi readers! Today we would do a little bit of spying about your acquaintances of the net. At times, while an acquaintance of yours on Yahoo Messenger in online, he pretends as if he is offline. He does so when either he is too busy to be interrupted by you or that he would not
like to talk to you at that point of time. This is fairly common when a user does not want to show his status, and goes to the invisible mode. So far, so good! Nothing wrong in pretending being ‘offline’. But, here you can play a ‘Sherlock Holmes’ and get to know if he is indeed offline or is simply dodging you. The trick is simple, but is a sure-shot.

At the outset, open your Yahoo Messenger main window and double-click on the name of the acquaintance whose status you wish to ascertain. The chat window will open in no time. Now –
Here, you get two options:
- Click IMVironment button
- Select Yahoo Tools or Interactive Fun
- Click Doodle
Here, you get two options:
- If your acquaintance is offline, Doodle would show this as follows - "Waiting for your friend to load Doodle"
- If however he is online, you get a response within a few seconds (may extend to a minute, or so) by way of a blank-page as shown below, indicating that he is online.
